ABOUT US

Muhindi Rwenzori Community Tourism Association (MURCOTA) is a non profit, non governmental and a community based organization. It started in 2008, founded and located in muhindi village, muhindi parish, Nyakiyumbu Sub-county, Kasese district. It has a founding board made up of ten (10) members.

MURCOTA is a community based organization engaged in various development initiatives including and not limited to tourism soil and water conservation.

The organization was founded in 2008 to ensure maximum utilization of the economic potentials at the disposal of the community.

This is hoped to help fight extreme poverty within our community through the utilization of the natural resources at our disposal.

 The organization‘s values are integrity, flexibility, member and customer satisfaction

Community tourism is sectors that can fast-track the fight against extreme poverty.

 The organization is run by the local community. All profits go to the helping a section of the community programmes such as beekeeping, tree planting, saving and credit society, education and sustainable agriculture art and craft. The foundation board ensures that the organization’s objectives and mission and vision are on track to be realized and achieved

  Having assessed our community needs realizing the need for co-operation and unity among the people towards building, conserving and protecting our natural resources and the communities around. Bearing its mission and vision in mind, the association operates in Kasese district with in the vast of the country Uganda and proposing to have branch offices in other district in Uganda as it grows to further its aims and objectives. The purpose of the association is to ensure community renewal through participatory approaches as well as self reliance in different fields/activities. MURCOTA  is registered with thr community development officer kasese district as a CBO (Community Based Organisation) 

OUR MISSION

To create awareness of environmental conservation and protection of the natural resources among the people towards  social-economic development in Kasese, the communities around and the country at large through agricultural practices, tree planting and tourism.
